Our story

Hi! My name is Kylie. I worked as a support worker in supported Independent Living homes over 3 different states Victoria, ACT and NSW. I was passionate about giving the beautiful souls I supported, the support they deserved. This often meant speaking up and challenging the status quo. I've always been someone who thinks outside the box, questioning why things are the way they are. The answer was often, "That's the way it's always been." I didn't , and to be honest I still don't understand that answer. The world needs people like me who think outside the box and ask questions that help the world improve, questions that help people who cannot help themselves. So what started me on this journey of innovation is I worked with someone who has an eating disorder called PICA which is the eating of non-nutritious items. The person I supported chewed sticks, and the feeding bib we put around their neck to prevent their top from getting soaked. I looked at their bib and wondered how I could possibly find a product that integrates a non-toxic silicone chew stick and the bib together. For 4 months I looked through websites and emailed sensory businesses. There was only one that had something like a bandana-like product that looked good on a dog. So I wondered how I could get a product engineer to produce one. No answer to my email. So I went on with life, one day an offer to join an app called INSPIRED so I put in an application, this innovation is not the only thing I have created. Nothing happened for ages. In fact, there were days where I would scroll on the app wondering wtf I was doing on the app. So many people doing such amazing things for the environment and such. But I persisted. No my ideas and creations are worthy just like anyones. I replied to someone's post, which lead to a phone call and before I knew it things are rolling. I want to produce an Australian product for people with disabilities. One is a fabric that can withstand being chewed and feels like a cotton sheet and the other Idea I have is to produce a product for people who are incontinent that is a stay dry pyjamas but are lightweight and can go in the dryer. Seeing how I could make a bib with silicone attached to the bib. which address hygiene and longeivity of the bib. My vision for this innovative website is that all people who need these products have access to them. People with dementia, disabilities and medical issues. Australia is full of female lead innovations that have changed the world. My innovations will change the lives of those who are disadvantaged by disease or disability. Shedid will stand next to the likes of Fiona Wood. Anita Ho Baille Melanie Perkins, Dr Michelle Perugini and all Australian women at the fore front of pioneering and innovation.
